Students of Yerappanahalli Government School showed strong interest in sports but lacked exposure, training, and confidence in Kabaddi, having never participated in competitive events.
A structured Kabaddi training programme was introduced, covering game rules, court awareness, fitness, and basic skills, followed by regular practice focused on teamwork, discipline, endurance, and match strategies. With continuous mentoring, students steadily gained confidence and improved performance.
The results were transformational. For the first time, the school's Kabaddi team won at the Cluster-level Sports Tournament and qualified for the Taluka-level Tournament. This success boosted student confidence, brought recognition to the school, and encouraged strong support from teachers and parents.
This journey from no exposure to competitive sports to a tournament victory highlights the impact of consistent guidance and structured intervention.
